သူဟာျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံ---စစ္ကုိင္းက်စြာေခ်ာင္ ကုိ လြန္ခဲ့တဲ့ေဆာင္းတြင္းက ေရာက္ရွိခဲ့ပါတယ္တဲ့။ ႏွစ္စဥ္ က်င္းပၿမဲျဖစ္တဲ့ ဆရာေတာ္ဘုရားရဲ႔ ႏုိင္ငံျခားသားေယာဂီမ်ား-၁၂ႀကိမ္ေျမာက္တရားစခန္းကုိ ကူညီဘုိ႔အတြက္ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။အဲဒီတုံးက ဆရာေတာ္ခံစားေနရတဲ့ႏွလုံးေရာဂါ ဟာအေျခအေနဆုိးဝါးေနလုိ႔ တရားျပသႏုိင္ ဘုိ႔္ေတာ္ေတာ္ေလးအားခဲ ေဆာင္ရြက္ရတာကုိ သူေတြ႔ခဲ့ရ ပါတယ္။

လြန္ခဲ့တဲ့ ေဖေဖၚဝါရီလ ၁၂ရက္ေန႔က ေဆးစစ္ခံဘုိ႔ စကၤပူကုိသြားမယ္ စီစဥ္ထားခဲ့ေပမဲ့လည္း ဆရာဝန္ေတြက ခရီးသြားဘုိ႔ခြင့္မျပဳခဲ့ပါဘူး။
ေနာက္ဆုံးေဆးစစ္ခ်က္ အရေတာ့ ဆရာေတာ္ဘုရားရဲ႔ ႏွလုံးကုိ စက္ထည့္ေပးဘုိ႔လုိအပ္တာ သိခဲ့ရပါတယ္။ ထည့္ရမဲ့ pacemaker/defibrillator ဟာေစ်းအလြန္ႀကီးလွပါတယ္။ခြဲစိတ္ခပါအပါအဝင္ ေပါ့ေလ..။

Sayadaw U Lakkhana needs our support!
Dear Friends ,Students, and Supporters of Sayadaw U Lakkhana,

This Winter I went to help with the 12th annual foreign yogis retreat at Kyaswa Monastery in Burma ဧwhere Sayadaw U lkkhana is the Abbott and meditation teacher. Sayadaw's chronic heart condition has taken a turn for the worse and Sayadaw's condition is not good. Although he did teach the retreat, he has been forced to drastically curtail all of his other activities. He was scheduled to go to Singapore for a check-up on February 12th, but his local doctors have told him not to travel, so that trip was canceled. Sayadaw has been on retreat and resting this Spring.
A recent check-up indicates that Sayadaw may need to have a pacemaker/defibrillator installed on his heart. This is a very expensive and difficult surgical procedure. Sayadaw will need to travel abroad for his medical needs before too long. As you all well know medical costs are very high, even in Asia.
Sayadaw does not have any kind of health insurance. It is doubtful that anything like that is even available in Burma. There is no currently existing fund or savings account to cover this kind of expense. As a Buddhist monk, Sayadaw is entirely dependent upon the generosity and kindness of others for any and all of his support.
We have started a tax-deductible fund to help cover Sayadaw's medical expenses. It is being handled through Vipassana Hawaii which is a co-sponsor of the annual Kyasw retreat. For more information, please visit the Vipassana Hawaii website at:
